Welcome to Nayuma Women’s Cooperative Society :

Nayuma Women's Cooperative Society Ltd. is a primary level Co-operative society registered vide registration no E/120 DRCS(E) dated 29th August 2001 under Sikkim Co-operative Societies Act 1978 and Sikkim Co-operative Societies Rules 1981. Primarily, the Society registered with 42 members with an area of operation having the whole of the state. The basic objective behind organizing this cooperative society is to generate employment through imparting Cutting and tailoring skill to the educated as well as under-educated women of the state. The society has a total share capital of Rs 16,88,000/- as per the Audit report 2012-13. The Society is running in net profit for the last three consecutive financial years with a turnover of more than a crore for the last three consecutive financial years. The society has been able to earn accumulate net profit of more than Rs 18 lakh as on 31.3.2013.

This is the only Co-operative Society in the state who is also the service partner of State Institute of Capacity building, Kafectar, South Sikkim for running 02 (two) Livelihood school of Cutting and stitching trade at West Pendam wef April 2013 and Namchi South Sikkim wef August 2013 for the period of one year in the Current Financial year. Altogether, a total of 100+ trainees are undergoing the training where the Society had committed to provide placement after the training. Later, the trainees will be provided opportunities to become the member of the Society subject of fulfilment of Society's eligible criteria.

Initially, the main activities of the Society was manufacturing of Handicraft and Handloom products, however, the Society was compelled to diversify the business activities since the trade being seasonal in nature. Today the Society has following units :

1. Handicraft and handloom unit
2. Cutting & Stitching unit
3. Supply unit
4. Grocessary unit
5. Fast food unit.

Currently, the Society is manufacturing more than 100 indigenous products. Some of the hot cake items have been displayed in the website.
